Kentucky Owl is distilled in Bardstown, Kentucky and is only sold in limited amounts within Kentucky. A recreation of an old brand owned by the Dedman Family that was closed due to Prohibition in the 1920's and all its stock was famously looted by Al Capone. This bottling became perhaps the most hyped new bourbon ever released and was criticised for its high price tag, however people travelled to Kentucky to buy the whisky and then sold it for 5 times the amount in other states. Major newspapers reported on this 'tulip-mania' frenzy at the time. It has since achieved cult status and this is a highly significant and collectable bottling.
